The Lambs exists to create openings for boys to showcase their rugby skills at a representative invitational level when they have been unable to do so due to other commitments or lack of selection opportunities.

The Lambs RFC was set up to promote traditional rugby values and a ‘Corinthian’ spirit as our style: this is to play unreserved ‘heads up’ running rugby in a fast and expansive style, which is player rather than coach led. The freedom to express talent, unfettered by league results and structured ‘coaching’, leads to a style of play that excites players, their parents and supporters of the game. The Lambs is all about rugby for the joy of rugby. Our excellent results on the field come from the talent of our players and the passion that they quickly develop for the ‘fast and free’ style that we play, not from hundreds of hours on the training field and a prescriptive, unexciting coach orientated approach.

After changes in RFU regulations the Lambs RFC now operate at U18 level alongside an ‘Old Boys’ 7s team.

This is for boys that are currently:

  1. Not a member of a Premiership Academy

  2. Not a part of the RFU Elite Pathway

  3. Not playing Divisional level rugby or above in the RFU Aspirational Pathway.

  4. Who are in their last year (U6th) of School. N.B. ‘3rd Year 6th Form’ players are eligible to be nominated.

Nominations come through the schools (Christmas Term Half-Term) and lead to a set of development days. This process then leads to an invitational programme for a season that has four fixtures and an international tour in the summer. The whole programme is an intensive, totally unique experience which has had remarkable success since inception. This is all achieved through schoolmasterly co-operation and goodwill for the benefit of the boys, for which we are hugely appreciative.

If your school does not currently nominate please contact James Vecchio (National Director):
